Howdy JiFL Supporters, Friends and
Participants,
So many things have happened lately
and it seems that there is no one to
report them. Sometimes that is good
thing as it forces others to seek out
information themselves which means
that they are communicating with at
least someone or something other than
the regular channels. This, in turn,
adds new perspective to the big
picture and often improves the
present situation. The
not-so-positive thing is that rumour
and false information can set in and
cause all kinds of disruption and
problems. So let's start by wrapping
up some facts starting firstly with
the most urgent:
Fact 1:
The
JiFL End of Season Party is
June 12th, 2010 at Eastern
Promise Restaurant &
Pub in Kemang to start at
20:00 PM. Here is a list of the
activities. Wine, dine and dance are
given's. Plenty of that plus the JiFL
Awards Presentation which will
include the following: Top Scorer,
MVP, Player's Player of the Year,
Manager of the Year, Referee of the
Year, Lifetime Achievement Award, and
my favorite - Spirit of the League
Award (sometimes referred to as Fair
Play Award).

Fact 2:
The
2010 JiFL Cup Champions are
indeed the DeHooi Nomads. Aptly
led by Marc Giovanola
and Nico Clementz
with superb star support this season
from Patty Onana. They
defeated the former almighty
Wanderers by a score of 4-1 with an
excellent come-back from 1 behind at
the end of the first half to
patiently control the match, keep
possession and wear the old boys
down. The Wanderers who were making
their ninth Cup Finals appearance in
a row after defeating the Sabor
Latinos 5-2 in the other semi-final
seemed confident to take their 7th
Cup of the decade but it was not to
be. The Nomads aptly deserved their
Cup and all must agree that it is
good for the league. 'Good to
spread success around.' as the
great Fandi Ahmad aptly put it into
life's perspective.

Fact 3:
Both
Jesper Boutrup and
Dale Mulholland will be
stepping down from their JiFL
management duties that they have been
involved in for the last decade and
concentrate on their own families and
businesses so that others will have
to consider this and will now have
the opportunity to fill the void that
these individuals have created. |

Fact 4:
The USA
and England will be
playing their World Cup 2010 match on
the big screens at Eastern
Promise this Saturday at the JiFL
Party.
Fact 5:
Long time
career JiFL player - Nico
Clementz who has been chosen
for 8 JiFL All-Star teams in a row
will be formerly retiring from the
league and moving back to France this
summer. We will miss him. He has
been a worthy opponent for all of us
and an excellent teammate for the
following teams throughout his time
in Jakarta starting with Team
Italia, then FC D's
Place nee One
Tree Grasshoppers nee the
DeHooi Nomads who,
as mentioned, are the current JiFL
Cup Champions.
Take care and see you Live at the
JiFL Party,
