Edito: Gullit, Shilton,Blanc, Bebeto...

Dear Football Players and Enthusiasts,

Not a whole to talk about this week as all games over the weekend were either cancelled by managers or rained out by nature. Again yet another rainout occured last night with German Plus and the Vikings... So, other than tonight's grudge match between JIS and FC D's Place, we will have to wait for this weekend's fixtures to see if anything new will transpire in the league.

Announcement 1:      Major Charity Match to be held - Feb. 28th, 2005

Another Aceh charity match (we were first) is to be held at the Senayan National Stadium with the former European All-Stars -vs- the former Asian All-Stars. Now these players may not be as good as the JIFL All-Star Team that we put out a few weeks ago but perhaps a few of you may have heard of the names like Ruud Gullit, Peter Shilton, Laurent Blanc, Bebeto and some other players of lesser standard who will be coming to Jakarta for the 'do'?

Perhaps one of our JIFL managers will even have a chance at signing one of these old 'has-beens' as a substitute for one of our respective teams at some point...  but, again Ihave reservations about the abilities of these 'players'...  I am sure that when they see the tremendous standard that we of the JIFL consistently play at on any given day will most surely scare them off.

Announcement 2:      Bangkok Tournament --- Easter Weekend
                                                                March 26th & 27th,
2005
                                                      11 -a-side Tournament

There is an annual tournament in Bangkok that ISCI has been invited to participate in this year. The ISCI side needs players to make up the side. Anybody who is interested needs to let Mike Whibley or myself know immediately so that we can book the team into the tournament. It will cost $50. USd per player to make up the entrance fee. We get a good rate on hotels and flights so let us know. It is not necessary to be a member of ISCI in order to go. It is open to anybody who wants to have a great weekend of football and fun. Please contact any of us if you or your buddies are interested ASAP...

Best,
Dale and Nico
